Oven 350F
Cream the sugar and egg yolk into the butter; add the vanilla, then mix in the flour and salt.
Form small balls; moisten in egg white, roll in nuts.
Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheets.
Flatten down with a glass coated with sugar on bottom.
bake about 15-20 minutes.
